These types of scanners usually come with a comprehensive set of features that make it remarkably easy to get your images into the computer. Some of these scanners essentially serve as complete digitizing solutions, and they may come with image editing software.
Optical Character Recognition or OCR is a good feature to look for in a document scanner. These types of scanners use special software that can read a page of text and convert it into a document that you can open in your word processing software. From here, you can make edits, revisions and additions as you see fit. OCR technology has come a long way since they were first introduced, and they now have an amazing accuracy rate. Nevertheless, the technology still isnt perfect, and you may have to perform a few manual edits after scanning.

If you remember the big bulky document scanner of years past, you will greatly appreciate the convenience and the greatly reduced footprint that a modern document scanner comes with.
