RSS is the acronym for Really Simple Syndication and an RSS site is a tool for effective online syndication of blogs sites articles and web pages. There are different types of RSS sites that help a small business to market its products or services by broadcasting the contents of the website instantly. RSS also helps in indexing the web page or blog and brings in back links quickly and effectively. Two types of sites help to syndicate content. An RSS site that generates feeds helps to set up RSS and receive links and other feeds for a website while an RSS site for submission allows submission of a URL and starts the process of syndication. An Rss site that generates feeds distributes RSS feeds at once to other websites. All updates made to a website or blog are distributed instantly to other syndication sites or websites with similar content. Google Reader is a well known example of an RSS site that generates feeds. The other type of RSS site is a site where blogs and articles are submitted for syndication. The URL of the blog or website is placed on these syndication websites and the content of the feed is submitted for syndication. Those who submit their blogs or websites can control the type of feeds the subject of the feeds and the content. They can choose to get feeds from all types of websites or blogs or specify the content of the feed. Some may choose to get feeds with financial content or medical content or content from other specific subjects from the RSS site to which they submit the URL of their blog or site. RSS feeds are commonly used by the media and the websites of large newspapers and publishing companies. RSS feeds on an RSS site that syndicates news provides news and other information instantly.
