White label marketing is an extremely commonplace phenomenon, both in the world of internet marketing and in the good old fashioned brick and mortar world of actual stores that you can walk in to. You have no doubt come across several instances of white label marketing in your life, and probably encounter examples of white label marketing on a daily basis, without even knowing it. The concept of white label marketing is so pervasive that most people encounter it every day without even knowing it, but you probably are left wondering just what white label marketing is? In short, white label marketing, also known as rebranding, is when a product or service produced or provided by one company is rebranded and marketed by another company, so that is appears that the second company is the one producing or providing the product. While most reputable companies will not actually make the claim that they produced the product themselves, they do not usually make a point of explaining that this is not the case, either.
The most common place that most people encounter white label marketing is in their grocery store. Most people know that the generic versions of most products that are sold by their local grocery store under the brand name of the grocery store are actually the same thing as the brand name products. Usually, the generic versions will encourage a person to compare the generic product to the brand name product, or in the case of medicinal products or cosmetic products, to compare the active ingredients of the product to the active ingredients in the brand name products. This is a perfect example of white label marketing, where the product is produced and manufactured by the brand name company, and then sold to the individual grocery stores to be rebranded and marketed as their own products.
Other examples of white label marketing that you may be less familiar with are often found on the internet. If you are familiar with blogging, web site design, or any sort of internet marketing or internet business, you have probably heard about search engine optimization, or SEO for short. There are many individuals and companies that provide SEO services to bloggers, web masters and business with an internet presence, so that their website appears higher up on the search engine results pages, in order to increase the amount of traffic that the website receives, and therefore increase the amount of revenue that the website generates, either through advertising or through sales. Many times, white label marketing is used to sell these SEO services to web masters, internet businesses and bloggers. Many SEO companies make use of several individuals to sell their SEO services, which they sell under their own company name, while the actual search engine optimization services are performed by the SEO company that the seller is associated with. These cases of white label marketing are often know as SEO reseller programs; in these instances, SEO resellers function as salesmen , or middle men, who connect the company that actual provides the search engine optimization services, with the bloggers and web masters who are in need of said search engine optimization services. The SEO resellers working under these SEO reseller programs often sell the search engine optimization services under their own brand name, and then collect a commission on the sales that they generate for the SEO company that they are affiliated with, who actually performs the search engine optimization work.
